Shallowbag Bay 505, "Sounds-Fishy", is a 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath condo located in the premier marina waterfront community of Shallowbag Bay Club on Roanoke Island in Manteo, NC offering water front and marina views. The condo unit is on the top floor, one level, with elevator access and is one of the more ideally located condos offering the best all-around views. The rear deck overlooks the waterfront sound, Historic Manteo, and pans east across the sound to Jockeys Ridge. The front deck features a large covered porch and deck overlooking the marina. We love the top floor as it allows the best views, breezes, sunrises and sunsets.
The condo is renovated with a bright, cozy, beachy feel. It is tastefully decorated with fun beach themed cheerful décor. The living room has a couch, love seat, chair and a large flat screen Smart TV with DIRECTV service. Sliding glass doors bring you outside to a deck accessible from the master suite as well. There are covered and open sections with 6 bar height chairs, 2 pub tables and 2 Adirondack chairs with a small table. Perfect for morning sun or afternoon shade. The back deck also has 4 bar height chairs and a pub table, perfect for sipping a drink and watching the sunset.
The fully stocked kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a kitchen bar area with 4 bar stools overlooking the open floor plan combining the living room, dining room and kitchen into one open space. The dining room has a large table that seats 6.
The master suite has a king size bed, private attached full bath with over sized shower, flat screen TV, dresser and usable closet. Sliding glass doors open to outside deck with marina, sound and marsh views.
Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed, with attached full bath shared with Bedroom 3. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin size beds. The bedrooms share the attached full bath with tub/shower. Both have flat screen TV, dressers, nightstands, and usable closets. Both have sliding glass doors that open to an outside deck with sound front views, perfect for enjoying the evening sunset.
If you need a minute to yourself there is a bright sunroom with beautiful views of the sound. You can close the door and have a quiet place to enjoy your morning coffee or get a little work done at a desk, in peaceful surroundings.
The famous Outer Banks beaches, attractions and an endless supply of restaurants options are in close proximity, just a short car ride from our location. The many public beach accesses, most with free parking allow the convenience of parking close to the beach. Many beaches with bathrooms and bath houses. Outer Banks is also famous for their fishing and is a fisherman's paradise. There are many opportunities for in-shore, offshore or pier fishing. This area of the Outer Banks offers world class fleets of charter boat opportunities. Launching points for charter fishing include marinas in Wanchese and Pirates Cove Marina in Manteo, the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, and Hatteras Inlet. Also, if you bring your boat, (up to 21ft.), or trailer, parking and day dockage is available (must register in advance, no extra fee, ask for details). Larger boat dockage is available through the marina.
We love that the restaurants, shopping, waterfront and attractions of downtown Manteo which are located minutes away and are accessible by car, bike or a short walk. Many an afternoon or evening can be spent wandering the downtown areas boutiques, bookstore and gift shops. The area is rich in attractions and local history.
Not to be missed is the Saturday farmers market (mid-May through mid-Sept 17, 9am-1pm), in downtown Manteo on the waterfront, at George Washington Creef Park. Local art, fresh produce and baked goods are available to name a few.
For coffee lovers, please visit our local coffee shops. The Front Porch Cafe (0.3 miles) and Charis Coffee Company both (1 mile) for your convenience. There is a grocery store, CVS, ABC store, and many other restaurants and shopping all within a few minutes of the condo.
Manteo is rich in attractions, as we are located so close to some of our favorites like the NC Aquarium, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Elizabethan Gardens, and the Lost Colony Outdoor Drama to name a few and all here on Roanoke Island.
